Templates

Short clips, from a form.

A template is a fixed 5–20 second clip with named fields: text, toggles, choices, colours, an image. Fill the form and it renders through the same engine as a full ad, in the same styles, with the same QA.

Today templates render from the command line. Filling the form in the browser comes with the hosted app Coming soon

How templates work

Fields in, a checked clip out.

Templates compose existing scenes with placeholders; they never add scene types. The form is validated against the same character limits as a full storyboard, so nothing overflows.

# list and inspect
motiontyped template list
motiontyped template show chat-message-reveal

# render with your values
motiontyped template render chat-message-reveal \
  --set headline="Replies in seconds." \
  --set accentWord=seconds \
  --set showEndCard=false \
  --aspects 4:5,9:16

# same clip, other style
motiontyped render <runId> --style punch-sans
