What you give us, and what you keep.

A short summary of the draft terms for the hosted app. The drafts are not final and have not been reviewed by counsel. This page is not legal advice.

Draft. The terms of service, privacy policy and brand-rights text for the hosted app are drafts written for the owner and counsel to review. They are not in force, and they may change. This page says only what the drafts say. If a draft and this page ever differ, the draft wins until the final text is published.

Coming soon The hosted app is not open yet. These pages describe MotionTyped as it works today, in testing. Anything that is not available yet is marked. Join the waitlist to hear when it opens.

Where the texts are

  • Terms, Privacy and Licences on this site cover this website only.
  • The hosted-app drafts are a set of documents: terms of service, privacy policy, a brand-rights attestation, a sub-processor list, a data-processing outline and a licence checklist. They are not published on this site yet. To read them, leave your email on the waitlist form and we will send them.

What is yours

The terms draft says:

  • Your content stays yours. That means URLs, briefs, prompts, logos, screenshots, brand colours, fonts, music you upload, voice-over scripts and your edits.
  • The films are yours, as between you and us. The draft marks the choice between "own" and "licensed to you" for counsel to confirm.
  • Other people's material is still theirs. A site you point us at keeps its copy, screenshots, logo and trademarks. Publishing a film made from it is your responsibility.
  • Films can overlap. Other customers may get similar scenes or phrases. Our templates, styles, scene designs, built-in avatars, illustrations and engine stay ours or our licensors'. You may use them inside your films.
  • We use your content only to run the service for you: hosting, processing, keeping it secure and meeting legal duties.
  • No training. The draft says we do not use your content or films to train models, and that we do not allow our model providers to, as far as their terms let us ask. Checking this against the providers' current terms is still open.

What you must have the right to use

  • Point MotionTyped only at a site you own or control, or whose owner gave you permission to make marketing material from it. Do not scrape a site you do not own or control unless you have the rights.
  • Upload only a logo, screenshot or other asset you own or are allowed to use.
  • Make only claims you are entitled to make.
  • Do not point the app at private or internal addresses.
  • Do not present a made-up customer, quote, statistic or testimonial as real.

The draft plans a short tick-box before you generate from a URL or upload assets, saying you have those rights. That screen is not built yet.

AI-generated content

The terms draft says MotionTyped uses AI models to write scripts, plan scenes, read screenshots, check frames and, if you use it, make a voice-over. It says:

  • AI output can be wrong, odd or out of date. Check every film before you publish it.
  • MotionTyped checks that quoted claims appear on the page they cite, and runs layout and quality checks. These reduce mistakes. They do not prove a claim is true, lawful or right for your market.
  • You are responsible for the claims your film makes, including regulated ones, and for any disclosure a platform asks for.
  • Content marked illustrative (sample comments, stats, example people) is not real. Keep it marked.
  • A synthetic voice is not a real person. Do not use it to imply a named person said something.

Your data

The privacy draft says:

  • We collect what we need to run your account and make your films, and we do not sell personal data.
  • We send some of your content to other companies that process it for us. They are listed in a sub-processor list, which is still a draft with regions to fill in.
  • You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data.

Not built yet. The drafts describe some things that do not exist yet, including account and workspace deletion, the tick-box screen above, and retention rules. Retention periods are still to be decided.
